Just Breathe

Changing of seasons has a great effect on our moods, environment, and our stress level. Some examples are: I am getting ready for graduation in DECEMBER! The days are shorter and the nights longer (sleep better, but less time to play outside and get sunshine). Also, worries about food sources (gardening is wrapping up), money sources (this keeps changing on us), and relationship changes.

In fact, if you notice I completely missed my last Sunday post and I was on such a roll. So we need to roll with the punches from life and take a moment to Just Breathe.

Stop what are doing (because if you are driving you are not reading anyway, lol) and just take 3-5 deep breaths counting to 5 as you inhale through your nose and out through your mouth for 5 counts. Maybe even let out a sigh and just breath out some of the stress you have been holding onto today. We’ve got this. You’ve got this. We are in this together. I have no plans to stop blogging and have found it a very enjoyable “task”.

Now I am trusting that you took a few deep breaths and that you are feeling more calm and less stressed. I would love to hear from you either in the comments or via email at mentalacumenradio@gmail.com about how that little exercise made you feel or changed your perception of your day. I deeply feel that my life purpose is to help others and that I have been blessed with so much curiosity about health, wellness, and the health system so that I can become an expert that people can consult about big life decisions or tiny details. If you feel called to reach out please do so as I am a regular person and love getting to know others in both professional and personal connections.

One way I am taking time to breathe is by connecting with my family and reaching out to each person who is important to me. This is manifesting as phone calls because it is difficult to catch up via text so I have spent several hours on the phone and sharing stories about my past, present, and future with special people in my life.
